Melissa Benoit

I graduated from Northern College with my SSW Diploma in the spring of 2021 and I am currently in my last semester of my BSW program with Algoma University. I am someone who is passionate about the work I do and I will go above and beyond for those I work with. I am a quick learner and enjoy working as a team and I work independently well as well. I am someone who is dependable, loyal, and trusting. 

During my placement with Northern College, I completed my placement with Community Living in Timmins where I excelled at tasks that were given to me. I worked one on one and in groups with residents; I was able to learn about their needs and helped them advocate for themselves and the needs they were expressing. 

I had a short employment with Living Space Timmins where I was a Community Housing Worker and truly enjoyed my position and the clients we serve. I connected clients to services outside of the agency (detox, CMHA, treatment centres, etc..) I assisted in home visits, housing clients, assisting clients in obtaining their identification, assisted clients in having their basic needs met, etc. 

I have completed my SSW program in spring of 2021 and currently in my last semester of my BSW program at Algoma University.
