About Michelle Martin:

I have extensive experience working in many different corporate and non-profit environments as a Project Coordinator, Program Manager, Office Manager and Administrative Assistant.

I would like to highlight my role as Operations Manager for Empowered Student Partnerships (ESP) at Canadian Safe School Network in Toronto.  In this rewarding position, I worked onsite at Toronto Police Service headquarters with officers to create, facilitate and execute a student-led school safety program (ESP).  Together, we worked with teachers, administrators and students at hundreds of Toronto high schools to determine and address the challenges faced by students and strategize creative solutions to address their needs.  Along with my colleagues at Canadian Safe School Network, I created and presented school safety workshops & seminars to high school teachers and administrators at our annual conference.  Another highlight was organizing special events such as the ESP Showcase, an awards ceremony with over 1000 students, staff and officers to celebrate the innovative work of the students in the program.

In Vancouver, I worked as the Club Coordinator at Vancouver Athletic Football Club, recruiting and training volunteers, event planning for tournaments, connecting directly with families to ensure a smooth and successful season for their young players as well as organizing a super fun club-wide year-end jamboree!

I have excellent communication and organizational skills.  I am a team player with the ability to be focused, flexible and fun!  I enthusiastically approach my work from a feminist, anti-oppression framework. Mostly, I crave to do personally fulfilling work in an environment values sustainability, community, connection, integrity and diversity.

Experience

I just completed a contract as Executive Assistant & Special Projects at InspireHealth Supportive Cancer Care.  This was a rewarding position which provided many opportunities for learning and growth.  My duties included assisting the CEO in coordination of board meetings, preparing Executive Reports and other confidential documentation.  I coordinated special projects including assisting with our annual Gala, fundraising events and team building activitiesI supported our clinicians in executing our signature LIFE Program including managing volunteers, ordering catering, preparing presentations, etc.
