Hi, I'm Murillo Rodrigues, an Data Engineering / Analytics Engineering Lead at Via.work, where I spearhead the creation and delivery of innovative data solutions for the talent marketplace in Latin America. With over 13 years of IT experience, including 9 years of data engineering and architecture, I have a proven track record of solving complex data challenges and driving business growth through actionable data insights.

I combine technical expertise with leadership skills, managing and mentoring data engineering teams, developing and implementing roadmaps and strategies, and making pivotal decisions on data architecture and standards. I leverage cutting-edge technologies and methodologies, such as AWS, GCP, Databricks, Spark, Python, Agile, and Data Mesh, to enable data-driven decision making and foster a data-driven culture across the organization. At Via, I spearheaded the creation of the Analytics / Data Engineering Team, applying my expertise to

My role involved:

* Developing and managing team roadmaps in alignment with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

* Overseeing data product delivery using agile methodologies for company alignment.

* Establishing a long-term vision for Analytics and Data Engineering.

* Led and hands-on work Cost Efficiency Project focused on reducing Databricks costs by around $ 12k

monthly;

* Led and hands-on work on migrating Looker to the Lightdash data viz platform, significantly reducing

costs. (around $ 200k annually);

* Leading and hands-on work transitioned from dbt cloud to dbt core, avoiding annual costs of $ 24-30k;

* Developed a Pyspark job to ingest data from over 2k MySQL databases, enhancing data availability.
