As a Bachelor of Social Work student and a dedicated advocate for social justice, I have acquired a comprehensive understanding of anti-oppression and anti-racism theories, coupled with a consistent track record as an honors student that is determined to excel in the field of social work. 

With over 2+ years of dedicated experience as a Community Engagement Caseworker, I have honed my skills in fostering the empowerment of marginalized youth. My journey has been defined by a steadfast commitment to enhancing the lives of students in grades 1 to 8, creating environments where they can flourish socially, intellectually, and emotionally. Over the course of two years, I have meticulously curated and executed a range of engaging afterschool programs at Peel District School Board, including summer camp facilitation. This hands-on experience allowed me to fine-tune my ability to create meaningful learning opportunities that cater to diverse age groups, contributing to the development of essential life skills and a well-rounded education. I am committed to continuous learning and professional growth in the realm of social work.

Free For All Foundation, School Program Leader (December 2022-Present)

In my role, I diligently designed and executed engaging extracurricular activities that catered to the diverse age group of students, focusing on boosting their social and intellectual skills through group and one-on-one time. These thoughtfully planned sessions not only provided students with a safe and fun environment but also encouraged the cultivation of essential life skills, fostering their personal growth and well-rounded development.

Big Brothers Big Sisters Peel York, Youth Service Delivery (September 2023- April 2024)

Throughout my constant involvement in a variety of mentoring programs within Peel District School Board and Dufferin Peel Catholic School Board, including In-School Mentoring, Go Girls/Game On, and Conversation Club, I have consistently demonstrated my ability to connect with young individuals and create a safe and inclusive environment for growth. 
 

My  role extends beyond the norm as I constantly have taken the initiative to lead and plan events, create new pilot projects with staff, and actively take on casework responsibilities centered around critical social work theories and practical application.
