Peter Shannon

Having graduated from both University (Major History/ Minor Political Science) and College (Advanced Diploma Supply Chain Management) I have worked for many years in procurement. Having been promoted to Associate Merchant, I then decided to return to school to complete a certificate in Industrial Millwright. Having completed this intense eight month millwright program and graduated with honors, I am now looking forward to returning to the working world in a Supply Chain Management role. Due to my exceptional work ethic and many years of experience in procurement, I hope to find a job in Supply Chain Management. 

For seven summers in a row, I worked as a assembler in a warehouse. This fast-pace and exhausting enviroment I was able to work in for many years, while the turnover rate for this position is 97.5%. My dilligence convinced my employers to consistently rehire me due to the exceptional work ethic I displayed. Having graduated from Supply Chain Management, I worked for three months as a MRO Buyer, but I then moved onto Loblaw as a Supply Chain Coordinator. In this coordinator position, I would consistently go above and beyond the job expectations, giving my employer 60 hours of work a week. Due to this diligence, I was promoted to Associate Merchant for a strenuous desk: the berries, cherries, mushrooms, cantaloupe, watermelons, cooking veg, and salad veg desk. Having pushed myself for this position, I then decided to return to school to pursue a certificate in Industrial Millwrighting. Though I graduated with Honors in this program, I decided this route is not for me and I am looking forward to returning to the working world in a Supply Chain Management role.

Due to my years working in Supply Chain Management, I am very experienced with excel, SAP, and JDA. My ability to process enormous amounts of information has helped me excel at my work. My past experiences in warehousing, transportation, procurement, merchandising, and maintenance has helped me cultivate a versatile mindset, which is key for success in the business world.
