Rajiv Vashisht

The author is currently working in Red River College as instructor. He has completed his first PhD in 2004 from Thapar University, India 
on the topic of “Online identification and adaptive active vibration control of complex structures using piezoelectric materials” He has completed his second PhD in 2020 from 
University of Manitoba, Canada on the topic of “Condition 
monitoring and vibration control of rotor systems with applications in metal cutting”. He has published 27 papers in international journals of repute and 9 papers in international 
conferences. He has 20 years of teaching experience in various 
universities of India. His previous interests include Active 
Vibration Control of flexible structures, applications of Robust 
Control theory, Condition Monitoring of rotor systems as well as metal cutting processes 
using Artificial Intelligence Techniques. He has done work on Active Chatter Control of 
metal cutting systems using electromagnetic actuators. His current interests include the 
rotor dynamics of electrical machines.
