Experience
Professional Experience
Lantic Sugar Inc, Vancouver, BC Jan 2024 – Aug 2024
Electrical Engineer (Master’s Degree) Co-op Student
Reporting to the engineering manager and the project management specialist, I drafted the specifications
for upgrading the control system of the sugar clarification process to connect to the existing DCS system,
improving operational efficiency by 15%. I prepared various technical drawings, including single and
three-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, I/O lists, PFDs, P&IDs, schematics, network architecture, and cable
schedules. Additionally, I gained experience using the Maximo asset management system. I served as the
main liaison with the external consultant responsible for preparing the electrical drawings. I also
developed the specification and roadmap for replacing the old 1960s ABB control with new controls
compatible with the refinery DCS. I recommended an enhanced approach that allocated the new dust
collector system load to existing panels, reducing the cost of construction.
University of Victoria, Canada Jan 2023 – Jan 2024
Teaching Assistant
I served as a laboratory instructor for five engineering laboratories and graded assignments and reports for
more than a hundred engineering students, and as a teaching assistant for over a hundred undergraduate
students in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department.
Mehdiabad Lead and Zinc industry pioneers, Iran Nov 2019 – Aug 2022
Senior Electrical Engineer
Reporting to the Chief Electrical Engineer and the Chief Executive Officer, I was instrumental to the
success of three major projects:
• Designed, procured, and implemented MV/LV electrical systems for a metal processing plant within
budget, including four optimized 33KV/0.4KV step-down substations.
• Specification and procurement of LV panels for 3 pump stations on a 100 km water transmission line
moving treated water from a sewage treatment plant in Yazd, Iran to an industrial cluster.
• Design review of a 132/33 KV substation.
My duties included:
• Supervised junior engineers, technologists, and external subcontractors to ensure project alignment
and quality standards.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable international standards (IEC, IEEE, BS, and IPS).
• Short circuit fault analysis, load flow, equipment failure studies, and delivering recommendations to
improve system reliability.
• Quality control of all documents using hand calculations and software tools.
Kavoshgaran Consulting Engineers Co, Iran May 2011–Oct 2019
Executive Director, Alvand Power Plant Project Development (Secondment)
Reporting to the Board of Directors of the joint venture between Kavoshgaran and private investors, I led
a team of 8 multi-disciplinary professionals to evaluate the feasibility of building a new 1 MW gas-fired
CHP power plant in southwest Iran using low-cost natural gas to generate power for sale to the national
grid system. The opportunity strengthened my management skills beyond technical matters and provided
valuable training in risk management, market analysis, project finance, and contract negotiations.
Senior Electrical Engineer
Reporting to the chief electrical engineer and as a member of the decision-making team, I completed the
design review, commissioning, and testing of the entire electrical system for a new copper leaching
processing plant and the expansion of the electrical system for an existing copper concentrator processing
plant. I was responsible for the quality of all systems, including but not limited to, power distribution,
safety, MV/LV, emergency, and lighting. Conducted lightning protection analysis, earthing system
designs, paging solutions, and hazardous area studies
Energy Pardazan Pishgam Co, Iran May 2009– Apr 2011
Electrical Project Engineer
Reporting to the senior electrical engineer, I managed daily activities for installing electrical equipment at
the construction site of a 20,000 m² shopping mall. I prepared shop and as-built drawings and supervised
the subcontractors on the job site.
