Rhode Frizzell

Hey there! I'm a BA psychology graduate from Kwantlen Polytechnic University with a passion for helping others and promoting inclusivity. During my academic career, I also pursued a minor in Asian Studies in order to gain cultural competency in preparation for working with the diverse communities across BC! With 7 years of management experience under my belt, I have honed my leadership and communication skills, making me a great team player. I also have a strong administrative background, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. 

Outside of work, I have been an active member of my community, volunteering with the city to engage with youth and promote community events. My most enjoyed hobby and creative outlet is through writing, which has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember, and even helped my connect to my spouse! I also have a green thumb (or at least an aspiring one) and love spending my free time gardening.

As a 2SLGBTQIA+ member, I am dedicated to creating a more inclusive society. My lived experience with developmental disorders and mental illness has given me a unique perspective and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by marginalized communities. I've also been able to provide crisis counselling to struggling peers, which has given me important and valued skills. I am determined to use my skills and knowledge to provide support and make a positive impact. 

I am always seeking opportunities for professional growth and development. I am eager to learn and expand my skills, especially in areas related to social justice and advocacy. I have 7 years of management experience through my role as a Senior Assistant Manager at my current company. I also have past experience in administrative roles, as well as volunteer experience with the city where I was able to engage youth and families from diverse backgrounds.

I have achieved a BA in Psychology from KPU with a GPA of 4.01. I graduated with distinction and have been awarded dean's list for many consecutive terms throughout my academic career. I have been able to spearhead research teams, allowing me to manage projects, lead groups and achieve goals and deliverables with well maintained operations. I am currently working toward a certificate in project management and am seeking to obtain further degrees in the near future.
