About Richmond Uy:
I am a recent graduate at the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus, where I double majored in New Media Studies and City Studies with a minor in Economics. I also have 3 years of experience within the non-profit industry where I have mainly worked in urban/civic engagement organizations.
I am planning to further my professional experience and skills, and am open to new learning opportunities. I have excellent communication and interpersonal skills which have been developed through a plethora of experience in customer service roles and team projects. In my experience in the non-profit I have accumulated strong fundraising, project coordination, grant management experience, as well as outreach, volunteer management, strategy and analytical research skills.
I am proficient in technical programs and software such as Microsoft and Google Workspace Suite, Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects and Illustrator. I also demonstrate the ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data and produce creative and succinct reports. My interests are in city planning, city politics, housing, municipal finance, community outreach and community building.

Project Coordinator (Full-Time) Community in Public (CP) Planning November 2022 – Present
- Employed/Utilized project management skills to track deliverables and prepare a report per the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation's Housing Supply Grant's stipulations
- Built out organizational structure using a project management software called monday.com.
- Liaised and coordinated meetings for the Executive Director with major stakeholders.
- Conducted outreach for an Indigenous Advisor, creating the Scope of Work and supported in establishing the terms for collaboration between the organizations.
- Spearheaded a research team in conducting an Environmental Scan to support the work of a major 2-year project.
Organizer (Full-Time) Progress Toronto March 2022 – November 2022
- Managed stakeholder relationships and communications for the organization while serving as a key liaison for advisors, board members, volunteers and municipal candidates that we sought to support.
- Maintained the workplace database with diligent data entry skills to track goals, identify areas for support, and save useful statistics for the organization.
- Streamlined project coordination by utilizing Airtable, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Excel.
- Coordinated, trained and deployed over 50 volunteers to maximize outreach.
Program Coordinator (Part-Time) Urban Alliance on Race Relations (UARR) May 2021 – October 2021
- Planned fundraising and social events to support the work of the fellowship, including a virtual concert fundraiser attended by over 300 members of the community and generating $3622.95
- Coordinated placements for 5 fellows with UARR and City of Toronto staff; handled various administrative tasks including budget administration
- Performed program management duties by leading program initiatives such as professional development, fellows’ mentorship support, and program advisory meetings.
Research and Funding Committee (Part-Time) Filipino Youth Fellowship (FYF) July 2020 – December 2021
- Collaborated with the advisory team to brainstorm programming and outreach strategies.
- Supported the planning of key programs while contributing to the development of fundraising, promotion, and sponsorship initiatives.
- Spearheaded the Fellowship Evaluation by co-leading the research team through the fellowship evaluation process used for fundraisers.
- Coordinated funder and organizational reports to help outline and demonstrate overall program achievements.

Also minored in economics, using this as a background to understand urban economics.
