I'm happy to be applying for the currently open Computer Support Specialist position at HRS.

All my life, I have had the desire to understand how things work. I was drawn to the procedural clarity of dismantling a computer and reassembling it in the most efficient way possible, with as few performance bottlenecks as possible. This early fascination grew in me over the years and I acquired a strong set of problem-solving skills. I think that, with my analytical acumen, I can bring something of value to this opportunity. 

I am grateful for your time and attention in considering me for this position. Working as a Computer Support Specialist at HRS would not only allow me an outlet for what I think are my natural analytical abilities, but it would also allow me to do something I love while providing service and assistance to others.

In my previous position as a Field Service Technician for ABMIS, I facilitated field repair on electronic systems such as ATM systems, printers, networks, and point-of-sale systems for retail and commercial locations. My current position is Fibre and Security Specialist, under the direct employ of AECON INC, representing Bell Aliant. In that role, I run fibre optic cables, install home internet services, fibre TV services, as well as comprehensive analysis, install, and repair of security systems. I currently hold security clearances to install home security systems through Triton.

In addition to this, I am the owner/operator of a computer repair business where I perform routine system maintenance and hardware upgrades on customer computers and smart devices. I also make myself available to provide commercial work installing cooperate networking and security systems. This position is largely on hold due to my other obligations.

In my past computer-related positions, I have extensive experience in IT Technical support, client service environments, Windows operating systems, and a variety of ticketing systems. Many of my past positions have been short-notice on-call, requiring extensive highway driving and require a great deal of innovation and self-driven initiative. These conditions provide exciting opportunities for me, rather than daunting challenges.

I completed the Computer Support Specialist program in 2005 and recently completed work on Web development and software coding through self-study. Through these educational opportunities, I have developed skills in maintaining and installing commercial and personal hardware, software, networking, PHP/mySQL, and well as HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
