Rupali Rupali

I am Rupali Rupali, a registered Recreation Therapist with over years of work experience in the field of disability and disorders. I currently live in Downtown, Calgary. 

With over two years of experience in therapeutic recreation and a strong academic foundation in Health and Wellness since 2016, I bring both compassion and clinical expertise to the role. I hold a TRO Designation and am a Registered Recreation Therapist, committed to improving the quality of life for individuals through personalized and meaningful recreational programs.

In my current and past role as a Resident Program Aide, I have developed and implemented a wide range of therapeutic activities tailored to diverse populations, including those with cognitive impairments and behavioral challenges. I have successfully handled complex cases involving behavior redirection, using empathy, creativity, and evidence-based techniques to engage clients positively and safely. My certification in ‘DementiAbility’ has further strengthened my ability to work with residents living with dementia, allowing me to design effective interventions that support memory, independence, and dignity.

I specialize in both large-group events—including cultural celebrations such as Chinese New Year, Cinco de Mayo, and multicultural festivals—as well as entertainment programs like live country music sessions and themed socials. These experiences have helped foster a sense of community and belonging among residents.

Beyond my technical training, I bring strong soft skills such as time management, decision-making, and communication, which are crucial for delivering high-quality, client-centered care. My academic background in Therapeutic Recreation and a Master’s in Special Education have equipped me with a deep understanding of human behavior and the therapeutic benefits of recreation. I also focus on sensory stimulation programs designed to enhance cognitive and emotional well-being such as Odor Trivia, Healing Hands Massage Therapy, and sensory games tailored to residents with dementia or limited communication abilities.
