Samantha Kloc

Hey! My name’s Samantha 👋 I’m a passionate, quick-learning worker who strives to do her best every day — and to always do better. I’m a graphic designer by school and trade, and my passions include mental wellness, plus-size women’s clothing, and gaming. I’m a graduate of Fleming College’s GDV program and am open to opportunities!

I have worked as a Volunteer at the Habitat for Humanity Restore as part of an education placement at Trent University from January 2020 to February 2020. I aided managers in store organization and overall upkeep as well as helping customers navigate the store and make informed decisions about purchases.

Additionally, I was a mentee as part of Cloud9 and Team SoloMid’s mentorship programs in the Winter of 2021 and Summer of 2022 respectively. Both of these were e-sports and graphic design focused, and I learned valuable skills to evaluate myself and my work. I learned about social media management and effective teamwork, as well as more design-focused skills such as refining existing brands or redesigning them for a more relevant and cohesive look altogether.

My most recent work is as an intern and freelance contractor for Realign Wellness Centre in Peterborough, Ontario. I began this position in May of 2023, and continue working here and there as a small contractor. Here I work as a graphic designer, in charge of managing and maintaining the website and social media outlets. My responsibilities included reaching out to practitioners, sponsored teams, and other partnerships for content, as well as curating that content for our feed. Additionally, I managed my time as well as the accounts’ schedules, ensuring posts were delivered in a timely, beneficial manner.

I completed my high school diploma as well as recently completing (as of August 2023) Fleming College’s Graphic Design and Visual Communication program. It was here that I honed my skills and really branched out, learning skills like communication in a group setting/with clients, videography and photography, the art of drawing and typography, and the fundamental elements of design.
