Responsibilities:
-Assume responsibility for Veterans needing complex care
-Post operative management & physical assessments
- IV initiation and management, venipuncture and interpreting bloodwork results
- Insert Foley and I/O catheters and assessing for complications
- Insert subcutaneous butterfly and assessing for complications
- Palliative/ End of life care
- Charge duties: Assigning workload and delegation of tasks as required to staff
- Working collaboratively with other members of the health care team to ensure all concerns are appropriately and effective addressed for each patient.
- Appling simple and complex dressings and treatments according to physician’s or- ders and policy

Responsibilities:

-Assess and develop care plans for the patients
-Assess for symptoms of illness in mental health by using various tools such as nursing assessments, the suicide rating scale, the aggression assessment
-De-escalation of agitation and aggression and intervention of acute crisis
-Coordinate care and communicate effectively with colleagues and team members to deliver safe effective care
-Monitors the units and ensures all safety measures and safe work practices are fol- lowed
-Provide education to patient and family members regarding psychiatric conditions and medications.

Responsibilities:
-Assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, documenting and directing client’s needs through consultation with medical professionals, care conferences and internal staff
-Assisting with the development, implementation and evaluation of client care plans -Appling simple and complex dressings and treatments according to physician’s orders and policy
-Assisting with supervision and evaluation of job performance and behavior of other health care staff
-Maintaining the standards of accurate and complete documentation
-Providing leadership to health services staff and overseeing provision of quality health services respecting the client’s right to individualized planning of health ser- vices
-Working with the existing management and health services teams to promote commu- nication and compliance to policies, procedures and applicable legislation
-Provide palliative care to residents and provide education and emotional support to family members
-Perform venipuncture and interpret bloodwork results
-Report concerns to community manager as appropriate and address concerns with reg- istered and non-registered staff on unit
