About Sarah Hope:
Over the past 6 years I have worked as an educator in multiple programs (including preschool and after school care) for children aged 3-8 and as a support worker. During my timeat Christian Life, I have learned excellent classroom management, gained strong observational skills, and strengthened my interpersonal communication. I have loved working within this team setting and getting to collaborate with my colleagues to provide the best possible learning environment for our kids.
Christian Life Children’s Centre has an eclectic style of teaching, pulling together pieces from Emergent Curriculum, Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and traditional theme based learning. During my time here I have collaborated with and been mentored by several ECE’s with various teaching styles and methodology. This experience has given me an immense appreciation for both Emergent Curriculum and Reggio Emilia style teaching.
I have regularly promoted opportunities to teach children to self-regulate and have had much success supporting children through those opportunities.
I am very confident in my role as an Early Childhood Educator. I am a responsible and reliable person that is comfortable with and loves to be with children.
My experience as an ECE with a background in youth ministry has equipped me with a strong ability to communicate with and nurture children. I have great classroom management skills and am a very calming presence in any program. I am skilled in helping children to regulate their emotions and giving them the necessary tools to be able to do this with independence.
I have a lot of patience and I thoroughly enjoy teaching children and engaging with them in creative activities. In recent years I have grown in my ability to facilitate loose parts, and provide unique dramatic play experiences (tattoo shop, workout gym, nail salon, hair salon, science lab, grocery store, etc). I love to engage children in stories using books (with much enthusiasm), felt pieces, or even white boards. I am great at facilitating process-based art with children and have a background in music.
I have a strength for observation and utilize this skill in my practice while helping create behaviour safety plans or helping supported children. I have experience doing support work for children aged 4 to 6 with various needs, including Autism. ADHD, Anxiety, ODD.
Experience
7 years of experience working full time as an early childhood educator.
