Shahida Tabassum

I am an energetic and ambitious person who has developed a mature and responsible approach to any task that I undertake, or a situation that I am presented with. Almost seven years of experience in teaching and research showing myself to be self-motivated, organized and capable of working under pressure. I have a clear, logical mind with a practical approach to problem solving. I enjoy working on my own initiative or in a team. In short, I am reliable, trustworthy, hardworking and eager to learn.

I am proficient at the IT and software tools as they are the key requirement of the current technological era to share the knowledge and advancements of research and communicate to the world. 

Presently, I am lecturer of statistics in the Women University Multan, Pakistan. Seven years of experience in teaching  and research showing myself to be self-motivated, organized and capable of working under different conditions. I teach major courses to BS/Masters as well as M.Phil classes. I do have back ground of research topics like interdisciplinary research, Biostatistics, Linear Models, Generalized Linear models and Time Series data Modeling. I have Supervised about eight students in BS research. I have participated in many seminars and conferences in order to enhance my learning abilities. I have also organized some of the conferences and seminars with my departmental core committee. I have also presented some research papers in national and international conferences.

I have completed my Master’s degree in statistics in 2013 from Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, Pakistan with A Grade. Then, I have completed my M.Phil Statistics in 2016 from BahauddinZakariya University, Multan, Pakistan with 3.83/4.00 CGPA. My main research domain was “Regression Modelling”. Currently, I am enrolled in PhD Statistics at the Department of Statistics Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, Pakistan where I have completed my course work with 3.42/4.00 CGPA. Because of my research interest in regression modelling, I decided to take it in a different way i.e. Bayesian Paradigm. I started working under the supervision of Dr. Saima Altaf, Associate professor, Department of Statistics, Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan, Pakistan who is an expert of Bayesian Statistics. Furthermore, for the stated Ph.D. degree, I was awarded a scholarship under the Faculty Development Program of Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan and I am currently working under the supervision of Prof. Narayanaswamy Balakrishnan, McMaster University, Ontario, Canada to have research collaboration for a period of 12 months during my Ph.D. research work.
