Shiriram Kirishnaventhan

I am in my third year of mechanical engineering at Ryerson University. I am looking to expand my knowledge in 2D/3D software as well as utilize my experience in the mechanical engineering field.

Worked in a hands on, dynamic environment to assist in the coordination of managing airline passengers and following standard operating procedures that comply with the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) protocol. 

• Ensured the safety and security of air travelers, airports, and aircraft through communicating facility regulations, providing direction and assistance in a professional manner.
• Operated screening equipment to identify non-permissible and prohibited items in luggage and carry-ons of passengers. 
• Developed time management skills through maintaining care and control while working in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
• Highly adaptable working in various environments, emergency situations and able to quickly problem solve through prioritizing tasks. 

Utilized technical skills to assist in organizing medical tests, as well as working in a team with medical professionals, clients, and third parties on a regular basis. 

• Collected and prepared specimens and samples for outside laboratory analysis through following SOPs, and documenting all sample information in a database.
• Helped administer medications, vaccines, and treatments instructed by the veterinarians.
• Assisted veterinarian during medical, surgical, and diagnostic procedures through communicating before and after tests and understanding the scope of the work.
• Ensured that all clients were informed regarding necessary information on medical procedures, medications and follow up appointments.  

Employed project management skills through leading various groups of students in required training sessions, organizing workshops, and developing strong motivation skills to encourage and supervise students.

• Successfully improved student participation in taekwondo and in obtaining an active lifestyle through scheduling assessments, constantly checking progression, and identifying areas efficiency can be improved.
• Assisted head instructors train and coordinate a team of black belt instructors through developing lesson plans.
• Adapted to various work schedules based on when students were available, consisting of working on weekend, holidays, and evenings.
• Guaranteed students gained discipline and applied that to every aspect of their lives through using motivation, encouragement, reinforcing teamwork, and communicating using both verbal and nonverbal skills

Completing third year of my mechanical engineering degree where I completed various courses in electric circuits, electric machines and actuators, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, machine design, material science, thermodynamics.Through this, I was proficient working with 2D/3D design programs such as; AutoCAD, Solid Works, GD&T and creating assembly drawings, MATLAB, C-Programming as well as other technical applications such as Microsoft Office, Visio and Adobe.
