My name is Sopuluchukwu Nwakaeze, I am a Computer Engineering Graduate from the University of Ottawa. I worked for a company called FDM which was a consultant outsourcing company. I was a Java Development, so I have a strong foundation with Java and its frameworks. I was contracted to TD Bank as a remote consultant for 6 months, so I am familiar with remote development and communication tools. I was a pro-active and self-motivated worker because I would constantly volunteer for additional work. During my time at TD, I was assigned independent projects. The projects involved me developing parts of a banking web application. I was able to complete these projects and display my critical thinking and problem-solving skills. I delivered the product on time, which I was commended for by my supervisor. I also performed daily bug fixes on the application. The application development required working with relational databases and programming skills in Java, JavaScript and SQL were key. The daily bug fixes were mostly database changes which required an SQL fix query to be ran on the production database. 

When I came back from working at TD Bank, I was a part of a team that was developing a web application called Consultant Service Portal (CSPO). CSPO is an interview prepping web application that FDM Group will use to better prepare their consultants. I was a Full-Stack Java Developer for this project. We had daily Scrum meeting and used a Kanban board to track and communicate our progress. Using the knowledge in Java, JavaScript, and SQL databases that I honed during my time at TD, I was able to set up SpringBoot for the backend of the project and construct the database to work flawlessly with the frontend and backend. I have also been working with some technologies I did not get to work with at TD like Angular. I learnt Angular while working on this project and I was able to apply it to the frontend I built. I styled the web applications UI using CSS. There were multiple teams working on different aspects of the website and collaborating, so we used Git to synchronize everyone's work. Because of the large number of teams working on the website, it was important to communicate coding standards and practices to avoid Git merge conflicts. It was important to write technical documentation about the code I was writing so other developers understood how it worked.

I completed a Computer Engineering degree at the University of Ottawa. During my time at the University of Ottawa, I was able to complete programming project that propelled me to my first professional Full Stack Developer job.
