Tegomo Valerie

I built my career path in entrepreneurship back home in Cameroon (for eight years) before immigrating to Canada. Upon my arrival in Canada, I became passionate about engaging in the community thanks to the support and assistance my family and I got when we arrived in Canada. I am very grateful and thankful for the community and that is why I changed my career path to becoming a social worker. I am currently a part-time student at Bow Valley College. I want the gain the required skills to get deeply involved in the community and bring my humble contribution to its growth. My skill set includes critical thinking, professionalism, responsibility, problem-solving, and most importantly, good time management. I would like to join a team where I can practice those skills to build a stronger community.

I mostly have entrepreneurship experience from back home. However, in Canada, I have volunteered at Calgary Food Bank and Calgary Drop-In Center. I worked for Loblaw Companies (Real Canadian Superstore from April 2022 to September 2022. My primary posts were cashier and customer service.

After finishing high school, I attended post-secondary (Higher Institute of Management - Douala Cameroon) where I obtained a diploma in Banking. I am a current student at Bow Valley College, studying social work.
