Huner was always involved in the family business and gained experience while helping his father. At the age of 18, he decided to start his own Mediterranean grill restaurant, Sofra, which became a huge success. He went on to open a second location in Vaughan before venturing into the fast food industry with Tomars Doner.

Inspired by his father's heritage, Huner wanted to serve modern Mediterranean food that would appeal to everyone. "We’ve always been very good at taking common Middle Eastern menu items and modernizing them to the point at which every consumer can fall in love with them," says Huner's brother.
