About Troy Durrell:
I hold a Radio, Television and Broadcast News diploma from the Southern Institute of Technology. I am currently one class away from obtaining my Communications and Media Studies degree from the University of Calgary.
Experience
Media Services Manager • medicine hat tigers hockey club • july 2022 – To present
With the Medicine Hat Tigers, I get the opportunity to do everything related to media. I create graphics for the website and social media, graphics and animations for use in venue and for the video production. I also create videos as required for both in venue and social media. I design print media for things such as pocket and magnet schedules. I also do press releases and story write ups. On game nights I direct and produce the game from the production room and I run the switcher to ensure all game and promotional material are displayed. On top of all of this, I also create and voice content for use in game nights and on the internet and I represent the club as a community ambassador at assigned events.
sports and entertainment reporter • cochrane eagle • august 2017 – To april 2020
From conduction interviews, writing exciting and insightful stories to taking action photography shots for the newspaper. I also managed the social media platforms, which included Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
media relations and social media • kelowna rockets hockey club • february 2017 – To march 2017
During this four-week practicum, I focused on the hockey club’s social media platforms as well as covering pre and post-game content. I also had the opportunity to work on their broadcasting team during practices, home games and community events.

Currently working on getting my Communications and Media Studies degree with the University of Calgary. I have one class left to graduate which was put off due to gaining my job in Medicine Hat.
