About Tyler deLoughery:
Tyler deLoughery is a graduate of the Photonics and Laser Technology program at Carleton University and Algonquin College. He led the TESERACT CubeSat project in conjunction with the National Research Council (NRC), developing a compact astrophotonic spectrometer for atmospheric CO₂ analysis from space. His broader interests include space-related technology, environmental exploration, and climbing pursuits ranging from bouldering to alpine mountaineering.
Experience
As a recent of the Photonics and Laser Technology program at Carleton university/ Algonquin College, I bring a strong academic foundation in optics, laser technology, and programming, alongside practical hands-on experience. My recent publication, “TESERACT: Twin Earth SEnsoR Astrophotonic CubesaT” is an example of my commitment to advancing the field and demonstrates my ability to carry out significant and impactful research.
Post Undergrad, I’ve practice various skills in the world of optics through my position at the NRC (National Research Council). This includes but is not limited to programming in multiple languages (C/C++, MatLab, Labview, Java, Assembly,Python), laser system design and practical hands-on experience in an optics laboratory such as wire bonding and fiber manipulation. I have a knack for problem solving and pursue tasks independently and reliably. I am detail oriented, strive for efficiency and communicate exceptionally well with customers and management alike. I am familiar with common computer software such as the office 365 suite, CAD & development software.
