About Tyler Renaud:

Hard working Individual who studied at Trent, Loyalist and Georgian College. Furthermore, advanced my professional skills at the Barrie Native Friendship Center, Georgian College, Anishinabek Nation and Barrie Area Native Advisory Circle. I have experience working  with Indigenous communities and delivering information in a culturally safe way  while also being observant of traditions that need to respected to maintain positive relationships with First Nations.   

Experience

Indigenous Coalition Coordinator

Primary force in actualizing BANAC’s Emergency COVID – 19 programs including: emergency Food Program; IT and Tech Devices; transportation and even emergency housing options

Responsible for identifying new funding opportunities that would benefit BANAC and its clients as well pulling together the written application and supporting documents that would make BANAC eligible for more funding

Attended many meetings on behalf of BANAC including Ontario Coalitions, Child and Youth Coalitions and meetings with the numerous Indigenous organizations apart of the Coalition that BANAC heads

Directly assisted the former Director of Services with any tasks she did not have the time or skills needed to complete the task

Involved with many special projects including the redesign of BANAC’s website; identifying land for housing developments; purchasing items for clients and staff; produced a video on homelessness in Simcoe County and leading a presentation of BANAC’s work in community and how others can be involved

Operated and completed tasks remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic with practiced strategies to work effectively with others without physically meeting

Responsible for personal expense and payroll reports

Executive Assistant

Transcribed over a hundred hours of meetings for the purpose of creating thorough meeting minutes or notes

Responsible for the accuracy and organization of the Executive Director’s professional calendar

Created an external server for the Association using SharePoint; this server was useful for sharing documents to big for emails or files that needed to be shared with specific partners with security protocols

Acted as liaison between the Association and the Ministry of Child and Community Social Services to 

ensure and expedite the effectiveness of meetings between the parties

Operated and completed tasks remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic with practiced strategies to effectively work with others without physically meeting

Tasked with converting documents from the previous leadership’s tenure into more discernible versions while matching the new company guidelines for formatting and style

Regional Governance Communications Coordinator

Tasked with connecting and informing 11 First Nations of prudent information regarding the Anishinabek Nation and the Governance Agreement with Canada

Organized and hosted information sessions and open houses across Southern Ontario

Delivered multiple presentations containing critical financial and political information that were meaningfully communicated to people of all demographics

Prepared Documents, information bundles and swag giveaways to spread awareness for the Anishinabek Nation and the Governance Agreement

Reviewed all documents thoroughly to answer community members’ questions or inquiries with accuracy and knowledge

Responsible for personal expense and payroll reports

Accomplished many goals like exceeding my event quota while convincing more than half of my communities of the benefit of the Governance Agreement.

Recruitment Specialist

Responsible for delivering various presentations that were up to an hour long to persuade students to attend Georgian College

Working knowledge on Georgian College’s Programs, residences, features, successes, and academic requirements

Traveled all over Central and Southern Ontario; was on the road for up to 10 days

Distributed marketing materials on behalf of Georgian College

Worked Fairs and Trade Shows, answered questions, provided materials, and connected those interested in Georgian College to the application process.

Connected with local partners during my travels to further the relationship Georgian College has with local employment and academic institutions
