Veronica Cardinal

My name is Veronica Princess Cardinal and I come from the Saddle Lake Cree Nation in Treaty 6 Territory. 

I am a full blooded Indigenous Cree and Blackfoot woman who is a full time student at Emily Carr University. I am a first year student for Illustration, and I have a 4 year old black cat living with me. I moved out to Vancouver over a year ago with others, but now live by myself and focus on the process of creation. I enjoy busy environments, love connecting with new people, very patient and focused when goal driven, loves winter, and enjoys music. I'm very extroverted and very friendly, and I am a big fan of horror movies. 

My years of work experience are based within the Educational Realm, specifically in Division 1. I focused my practicum placements in Onchaminahos Elementary School in Alberta, then continued working my way up from university.  I then gained employment after I completed my two years of the Early Learning Child Care Certificate and Diploma Program From Blue Quills University. I gained further experience from September 2023 to June 2024 working with children in higher grades, participated in Autism Training, High Needs Training, etc. I was also a One on One EA for the school year,  working and alternating the environment for this special needs child. I then moved out to Vancouver and got a Full Time Job with the Vancouver School Board in the Indigenous department as an Indigenous Educational Enhancement Worker from October 2024 to May 2025. 

Currently, I am a full time Illustration student at Emily Carr University.
