Victor Li

For the past year and a half, I have been pursuing a diploma in Music Business at Durham College, located about an hour north of Toronto. Returning to school later in life has presented its challenges, especially being surrounded by younger classmates, but this intellectually enriching experience has proven to be profoundly rewarding.

With over 25 years of hands-on experience as an artist manager in the Peruvian music industry, I have honed my skills in talent development and project management. I have successfully collaborated with artists who have performed at major festivals such as Rock al Parque, Vive Latino, and SXSW. My diverse experience includes managing talent who have toured in Europe and opened for top acts like Paramore and Justin Bieber. A standout achievement was when one of my clients had the honor of performing for The Rolling Stones at a private event in Lima. Throughout this journey, I've also developed a keen interest in music publishing, an area that remains relatively underexplored in Peru.

I hold a Business degree from Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru. My career path took an unexpected turn when I found an opportunity to teach Mathematics. I applied and was accepted at Markham College, one of Peru’s leading schools, where I dedicated 18 years to educating students across various grade levels, culminating in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. In 2012, I transitioned to tutoring, an experience that has been immensely rewarding and has allowed me to refine my communication and mentorship skills.

Now, having proudly completed my first three terms of college with a 5.0 GPA (out of 5), I have begun to build meaningful professional connections within the Canadian music industry. I look forward to applying my extensive management experience and teaching background as I embrace the next chapter with hope and determination.
