Human Resource:

•      Managed the staff schedules, proper distribution across the floors, and absences

•      Did an impressive job at filling positions during the Covid-19 outbreak. Made sure the floors affected by the outbreak have sufficient number of employees by contacting regular staff and multiple healthcare staffing agencies. Ensured that the employees are aware of the outbreak and consent to working on those floors

•      Member of the interview panel for hiring new employees and internship students

•      First point of contact with applicants to jobs. Ensured the applicants know and follow the hiring process and provide all the required documentation

•      Converted the staff schedule data from paper to digital format

Financial:

•      Managed the staff payroll, using the Deluxe payroll system, integrated with the Advanced Tracker Technologies – Time and Attendance solution. Made sure the payroll data is accurate and submitted it to the HR office on time for processing

•      Came up with a strategy to reduce the expenses of Villa Marconi. This resulted in saving thousands of dollars every month. The strategy is based on adjusting employee schedules to give them the maximum allowed hours per week, avoiding the need for employees working double shifts, limiting the number of employees coming through staffing agencies, and hiring additional part-time employees

•      Made sure the floor has the appropriate number of employees

•      Orders supplies before they run out

 

Risk Management:

•      Managed the floors during the Covid-19 outbreak. Made sure the employees and the residents do not leave the floor, that they follow the safety and hygiene procedures and that no other employees from other floors, nor resident family members are allowed to enter the floors

•      Administrates the Functional Abilities Form (FAF) of employees who had injuries, from the moment the incident report is submitted to the moment they return to work

•      Contributed to the update of the Saftey and Emergency plan of Villa Marconi

•      Ensured that the employees complied with the Occupational Health and Safety act

•      Prepared incidental reports and submitted them to the management

•      Ensured that the residents are safe, treated well, and are getting all their needs

•      Conducted the Covid-19 Rapid tests in the early mornings on all employees and the family members of residents

•      Demonstrated understanding of, and compliance with, responsibilities under the Occupational Health and Safety Act, as well as safety policies, protocols, procedures, and guidelines

 

Supervision and Conflict Resolution:

•      Supervised the employees and the residents of the “Alzheimers, Dementia and Behavior Support Floor”

•      Resolved conflicts between the residents or the employees, according to the Collective Agreement

•      Listened to staff concerns and problems and helped them find solutions
