About Wivine Thomas:
I am completing my Payroll course to obtain my PCP certification. My background is that of Executive Administrative Assistant and this both here in Canada and Belgium. My Mother tongs are both French and English. No matter the position I have always made certain to be the go to person. I served as a Compliance Officer at MD Management and had an accuracy rate of 99.9%. I have experience in quite a few industries from the private sector to a crown corporation always touching on the international.
Experience
Though it has been a few years (10) since I last worked I look forward to getting back to the working world. My last position was in the Payroll Department at Canada Post as an officer. My responsibility was to run numbers in Excel Spreadsheets that would track every Mail Carrier or Post Office Employee across Canada. The reports had to be published and provided to the Payroll Managers. These reports kept track of every single Mail Carrier and Post Office worked providing a quick oversite of the full cost they each represented to Canada Post from sick days, to benefits to EI, CPP and income tax every day.
Employed at Canada Post Corporation Head Office: I began as a secretary to a manager and within 5 years had managed to be promoted to Executive Administrative Assistant in the President’s Office for my attention to detail, ability to deal with an international environment. I was responsible for the Board Members of Canada Post which do not all reside in Canada. Organized the meetings, Ensured in-camera sessions were not disturbed. Ensured Quorum. Organized the agendas for the when the board met. I confirmed travel details. I processed expense claims. I would put together and send out information packages for upcoming meetings as well as information packages for new members. Responsible for the filing and maintenance of directors’ records.
I worked for several companies in Brussels, Belgium, as part of the administrative staff for:
Falconbridge Europe: served as executive administrative assistant to three managers. My job included providing them support with all paperwork, typing up reports, correspondence, traveling, serving as an intermediary where needed pertaining to their obligations to the Belgian government regarding taxes, registering with the Commune and organized meetings including catering when needed welcoming customers from around the world.
Skadden Arps Law Firm Brussels satellite office: administrative assistant: typed up correspondence, minutes, managing/sorting incoming requests or documentation, keeping track of the hours the lawyers would work and report it to a spreadsheet. Helping them with questions pertaining to life in Belgium; feel more comfortable.
UPS international administrative office: any and all sorts of administrative work supporting different departments. Typing up reports, correspondence, building power point presentations. I served as a “go to person”.
Education
I am currently enrolled in the National Payroll Institute and working towards my Payroll Compliance Professional designation. I have completed: Accounting 1, Payroll Compliance and Payroll Fundamentals 1 and am currently finishing Payroll Fundamentals 2 (October 31).
