About Yashwanth Gajula:

Currently, I am pursuing MBA from the University of Calgary where I am working with a cross-cultural cohort in a case-study-based curriculum that will help me to see complex problems from various perspectives through a business outlook and to provide unorthodox solutions.

I hold a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science & Engineering where I won competitive coding competitions and worked with a startup to build their mobile application. During this period, I embarked on an entrepreneurship journey by researching, analyzing, and conducting surveys to understand the market and developed a minimum viable product called Ride (a car-pooling application). I then worked in the IT industry for 3 years as a software engineer doing research & development; and went the extra mile by consulting with clients to strategize business solutions and solve their technical issues. The experience taught me to break a problem into its individual components and solve it systematically.

Experience

Worked for 3 years as a Software Engineer with Infor.

 

 

  • • Strategized and collaborated with R&D team to decrease “Workforce Management” product’s loading time by 25%. 
  • • Introduced Infor Wiki Pages to the team easing knowledge transfer by documenting complex procedures saving 2 man hours per week. 
  • • Used Core Java and Batch to automate application processes and replace manual work of building servers, resulting in cutback of 20 hours of resource time per week. 
  • • Retained major customer (Walmart) by collaborating with them and analyzing their database and code to resolve major bug in their archiving feature. 
  • • Integrated the “Workforce Management” product with the “Infor Data Lake” product using RESTful web services enabling customers to sync data for business and data analytics, resulting in 15% sales growth. 
  • • Trained two interns to implement “overtime calculation” feature which managed employee overtime pay. 
  • • Received “Workforce Management Achievement Award” for excellent customer service and resolving client issues promptly.

  • • Awarded 2nd highest scholarship of $12,500K (Terry Douglas Memorial Graduate Scholarship). 
  • • Analyzed Martinrea and Linamar companies’ financial statements using data analytics and created a report. 
  • • Studied and provided recommendation of creating a new commercial entity to improve the profits of Palantir. 
  • • Represented the University of Calgary at the 2023 MBA Games by participating in dance and athletics. 
  • • Member of Finance Standing committee, and other University clubs like Dance Club, Origami Club, Improv Club.

  • • Received 100% merit scholarship for scoring 97 percentile in a state-wide Engineering Entrance Exam. 
  • • Organized 5+ events such as CodeAuction and IoT Hackathon with 100+ participants in each event. 
  • • Created an app on the Play Store which improves the battery performance by 5% and generated more than 10K downloads. 
  • • Won 2 competitive coding competitions with 100+ participants in each. 
  • • Led team to win Hackathon by developing Women’s Safety app that sends SOS information to cops and important contacts.
