About Zachary Norman:
I have worked for about a year downtown as a cook working at fancier establishments such as the gypsy tearoom where I was used to doing Prep, cooking and the plating of variety of different dishes for service.
originally getting into the industry through applying as a dishwasher as a requirement of the Canadian emergency response benifit in 2020. I rediscovered my passion for cooking and after about a year as a dishwasher I became a cook and have loved it ever since.
one thing at work that I often do during shifts is that in times where prep needs to be done I jump to the occasion where I love to tackle some of the more involved items on the prep list as I consider it a learning experience and part of my professional development. for the same reason I like to get further into doing specials once I get a feel for the theme of the restaurant I’m working at.
