Nick underwent a life changing incident when he was 20. Inspired by the nursing care he received when he was a patient, Nick now shares his experience working with patients in critical conditions as a specialized Intensive Care Unit Nurse at Surrey Memorial Hospital where he has an opportunity to give back!
It takes an incredibly resilient, compassionate, and courageous individual to be a nurse and we salute all those who have dedicated their lives to this noble profession.
How our people enjoy their work-life balance
“Personally, I enjoy working at Peace Arch Hospital Emergency because it is part of the community that I live in and I have always taken pride in that…and who can resist the reality of finishing a shift, walking out the ED doors and strolling down to the beach (on a sunny or even a rainy day) – it’s beautiful…a great way to exhale and debrief after a long day at work!” - Darryl, Patient Care Coordinator.
“I’m from England and I found the transition [to British Columbia] fantastic. I have a 4-year old daughter and we are able to do so much on the weekends. The quality of life and the work-life balance is fantastic - I couldn’t be happier.” - Anna, Social Worker.
