Loneliness and depression can be the ruination of a healthy person and undeniably be agonizing for the elderly. Especially when someone is ill, whether or not they are elderly. We should do our best to be patient and have compassion for the elderly. We wouldn't be here without them.

Thank you so much for this touching buzz, @Mohammed A. Jawad! Especially the lines, "At times, when sick parents get irritated, children ought to be persevering, their little loneliness should be balanced with cheerfulness, their inquisitiveness should be dealt calmly, and there’s wide wisdom in not retorting them back with a single word."

I know it is difficult. I have been in that situation too, when the constant repeating of a single word or thought makes you feel exhausted. But then I thought, how exhausting must it be for them to not being able to understand what is being told. How helpless they must be feeling. This most definitely helps be more kind and patient with them. Empathy and lots of love, goes a long way in keeping them hale and hearty!

#13 So true, @Franci🐝Eugenia Hoffman, beBee Brand Ambassador. Thank you for your comment!

Music, its beats and its lyrics, have the power to take us to a different world altogether. Nothing better than losing ourselves in some beautiful lyrics before heading off to sleep. It actually helps remove all other thoughts that preoccupy our minds.

#12 Thank you for the the comment, @David B. Grinberg. That is great advice. I should include this in my post. Listening to music is an extremely relaxing practice, before going to sleep. I guess that is why we have the tradition of singing lullabies to babies, to put them to sleep. Something very intrinsic to how human beings respond to music has the led the way to music being such a great tool to use for unwinding before dozing off. I was introduced to the concept of white noise sometime back and found it to be an effective aid to falling asleep.

#10 So beautifully explained, @Deb🐝 Lange, Brand Ambassador @beBee. It is true. When it comes to pushing ourselves to get more done, we often put our health on a rigorous schedule seldom realizing the adverse impact this routine has on us. We just keep taking things away, sleep, good food, exercise and finally fall prey to a bad lifestyle. I wish we all could give sleep the credit and the time it so truly deserves. Thank you for the read and for the comment!

Thanks, Proma, for the excellent information and advice which is critically important to the health and well-being of every person. I agree that it helps a lot to start "shutting down" about an hour prior to one's designated bedtime. That means no electronic devices, as you note, including mobile phones, computers or TV.
Personally, I find that listening to soothing music helps me fall asleep faster and take my mind off the rigors of the day and challenges of tomorrow. The bottom line here is that those who are sleep deprived will fail to function at 100% capacity, which is detrimental to one's work and other life activities. Thus, it just makes good sense to make sleep a priority for a variety of reasons. Lastly, those who just can't get to sleep and/or have insomnia should consult their doctors regarding the appropriate medication to remedy this issue.

#4 Thank you for your comment, @Lisa Vanderburg! I will be very happy if this post can make a difference in someone's life. I am sorry to hear about your insomnia and your husband's Parkinson's Disease. I understand how difficult it is as I have seen people very close to me suffering from the same. Have you tried meditating before going to bed? That is one thing that literally gives me that gentle nudge (more like a push) to fall asleep. Applying slight pressure on parts of your palm and fingers can also help induce sleep by relaxing the nerves. I will get back to you with more information, if you think that could help.
    Deb🐝 Lange, Brand Ambassador @beBee

I agree @Proma - sleep is a very important issue for many people today. It is almost like we are trying to deny being human by being able to stay awake all day and night. we have forgotten the richness of sleep, of dreams, of allowing our sleep to help us process what has occurred during the day, so we can wake up with new insight. Sleep is like eating. We can not live without eating and drinking - we love to eat and prepare meals. We can do the same with sleep by creating a ritual that suits our selves. Whilst eating is often a group activity, sleep and preparing for sleep is more a time for ourselves.
    Harvey Lloyd

The last 15 mins of the day, alone all by yourself. Critical moments in our continuing health.

If i could add a thought to this critical 15 mins.

Judgement is all around us during the day. Reviewing and deciding right and wrong will sometimes load us up in the judgemental wave.

Take a few moments to recognize that ideas can twist and turn without judgement of others. Separate the journey of wisdom from the people.

    Great thoughts thanks

#1 I agree, @Lisa 🐝 Gallagher. Reading makes me sleep better. Meditating before sleep makes me fall asleep mid-meditation. The peace and calm it brings is too tantalizing to continue in a state of awareness. Television helps a lot when it comes to fleeting thoughts as they help a lot in diverting our attention. Especially the late night tele-shopping programs with their repetitive ads, help even more to lull people to sleep. Thank you for your comment!

Everyone should heed your advise about sleep, for once that door is cracked it's hard to shut @Proma 🐝 Nautiyal! Healthy sleep is essential to maintain; a battle I lost to insomnia since 1997. My husband has Parkinson's Disease, and it's a constant mantra to all newbies in PD to don't let that door open (eventually it does anyhoo). In sufferers, this becomes an enormous monster as they progress (degenerate); the parasomnias take over the ship! I used to sleep much better when I read before falling asleep, yes, even on my kindle. I have been trying to keep my phone "at arms length" and it works fairly good for the most. I fall asleep a bit earlier when I do this. Some people have incessant thoughts like a merry go round and they are hard to shut off no matter what you try. I find the TV works better when those thoughts are present, it sort of drowns them out. A good night's sleep is vital to a good day. Nice article @Proma 🐝 Nautiyal and great infographics!

Good timing for me with this article @Donald 🐝 Grandy. I have been researching healthy recipes to make this past week. I trying to find a fun/tasty way that's still full filling to cut my carbs way back, and add more fruits/veggies. I also use Dolcedi (apple sugar), it's the lowest I found in the store on the glycemic index. It doesn't leave an after taste and personally, I can't tell that I'm not using cane sugar. Here is a link to it (and no, I do not sell this)- http://rigonidiasiago-usa.com/dolcedi/ Thanks for the info!
