Alcare Place is a nonprofit organization, dedicated to helping men recover from addiction to alcohol, drugs and gambling.

Opened in the heart of Halifax in February 1987, Alcare has become a leader in the community with our holistic, client-centered approach to recovery.

The household is supervised 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

With its structured, supportive environment, Alcare provides a home for men who have a desire to rebuild their lives.

Alcare Place has an opening for a Casual Client Support Worker. One or two 8 hour shifts per week, evenings, weekends, and/or overnight.


Duties:

To provide supervision and ensure the safety and well-being of residents.
Documentation and record keeping.
Administering medications to residents.


Education:

Grade 12 or equivalent


Demonstrated Skills:
Critical Thinking Skills
Problem Solving
Interpersonal Skills


Specialized Knowledge:
Substance Use Disorders and Addiction
General security and fire safety procedures
General office procedures

Preference given to people who have held positions where the above requirements have been an expectation of their job:
Experience in Human Services sector

Salary:
$17.00-$18.00 per hour
