Job Summary
Coordinate linehaul traffic for Overland West Freight Lines


Work Schedule:

Monday-Friday 9:00 - 5:30


Essential Functions:


  • As part of the linehaul team, establish, modify and execute nightly dispatch plan.
  • Update trip sheets & records in the dispatch system, ensuring the accuracy of miles paid and log hours.
  • Day to day communication, via phone and ELD, with drivers to ensure proper load instructions are passed along and carried out.
  • Communicate with cartage to ensure they meet inbound cut times.
  • Manage breakdown situations and follow up with maintenance to ensure that freight is moved through to destination as quickly as possible.
  • Monitor all outbound cutoff times to protect service.
  • Monitor linehaul driver performance.
  • Enlist and coordinate third party carriers to move overflow loads in a costefficient manner.
  • Track linehaul driver vacation schedules and keep information current
  • Minimum of
    3 years linehaul dispatch experience in the logistic and transportation industry
  • Familiar with operations related to Long Combination Vehicles (LCV)
  • Strong organizational skills, planning skills, and multitasking ability
  • A customer service mindset and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fastpaced and dynamic work environment
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to thrive in a fastpaced and dynamic work environment

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary to be negotiated dependent on experience
