Position Overview:

The Buyer is responsible for providing an uninterrupted flow of materials at greatest value to meet production schedules, in accordance with IMW Industries documented procedures and instructions.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Ensure materials/parts and services are available and executed on time with expected quality.
  • Maintain systems to ensure the accurate accounting and usage of all materials.
  • Process Purchase Orders through Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system.
  • Analyze all MRP reports.
  • Oversee warranty claims with vendors (Nonconformance Reports).
  • Solve Purchase Order/Invoice discrepancies.
  • Manually generate Purchase Orders for shop floor (purchase requisitions).
  • Develop and manage relationship with suppliers.
  • Prepare and manage RFP/RFQs.
  • Expedite, track, and coordinate suppliers' deliveries.
  • Coordinate and engage with crossfunction teams to achieve the organization goal and objectives.
  • Generate regular purchasing reports.
  • Know and understand workplace health and safety rights and responsibilities.
  • Follow safe work procedures and act safely in the workplace at all times.
  • Maintain a safe working environment within the department and on each job.
  • Use the protective clothing, devices, and equipment required for the job.
  • Complete all applicable quality records.
  • Perform work in accordance with IMW documented policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:


EDUCATION:


  • Purchasing Management Association of Canada Certification II or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:


  • Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing required.

LANGUAGE:


  • Ability to communicate both verbally and written in English.
  • Ability to coordinate with all departments as needed.

COMPUTER SKILLS:


  • Solid experience using Enterprise Resource Planning/Material Requirement Planning systems.
  • Proficient with use of Microsoft Office Suite.

OTHER

  • Solid knowledge of purchasing practices.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • Have an eye for detail and pride in one's work.
  • Must be able to work in a fastpaced, dynamic environment.
  • Must be able to multitask.
  • Must have excellent time management skills and ability to reprioritize as needed
