Overview:

Main Function:
This position collaborates with the Manager of Physician Services and receives direction from the Managing Director and Department Head.

Working as part of a team, the Manager of Physician Services - Clinical Systems IT will rollout systems throughout the department, sections and sites; troubleshoot computer and system issues; manage system user groups and liaison between the department and Digital Shared Services.

This position will also perform human resource management for staff and work with surgeons to ensure excellence in patient care.


  • Clinical Systems IT:_
  • Provides daily support for all IT systems, 'superuser' for all Departmental software systems.
  • Provide orientation and training and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
  • Planning and testing the installation of new information systems, technologies and software enhancements.
  • Complete user/ office configuration in Accuro EMR as needed.
  • Troubleshooting computer and printer issues at all Department sites, in conjunction with Digital Health.
  • Developing/maintaining the Departmental database.
  • Participates in regular meetings with managers to facilitate communication of information, issues and challenges.
  • Special projects as assigned.
  • Human Resources:_
  • Ensure adequate and appropriate clinical and administrative support staff are in place to support GFTs
  • Ensure that cross training and coverage are in place to deal with shortterm absences
  • Work with the Human Resources Officer to track step increases, overtime, vacation time, sick time, leaves of absence, etc. for all support staff as required
  • Ensure that UMG and departmental HR practices, including hiring, orientation, respectful workplace, discipline, and dismissal are followed
  • Work with the Human Resources Officer to ensure succession planning for support staff positions
  • Monitor and manage support staff workloads, workflow and implement appropriate changes in assignment to meet the needs of individual GFTs, sections and the Department
  • In consultation with the Human Resources Officer, develop and implement staff development initiatives
  • Manage support staff performance issues and provide support to staff as required
  • Conduct annual performance reviews of support staff under their supervision
  • Arrange and manage practicum students from business and/or community college
  • In consultation with the Operations Manager and site based Clinical Managers, coordinates resource needs, access, eHealth, etc. are in place for GFTs and support staff.
  • Advise Section Heads and the Managing Director on program initiatives that will improve the efficiency for the GFTs
  • Monitor sectional initiatives, statistical data projects, regional program initiatives as required
  • Assist the Managing Director with statistical analysis and process reengineering to achieve greater use of electronic information management systems for Clinical and Administrative functions
  • Experience_
  • A minimum of two years of experience working within a health care setting as an enduser of electronic health record systems including EPR, PART/SWIM, Accuro, PACS, eChart, Entrada and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Minimum five years of related experience in human resources or management is required.
  • Education:_
  • An undergraduate degree or equivalent training in human resources, business administration, health care administration or related area is required.
  • Qualifications and Abilities:_
  • Experience and knowledge of systems implementation and management is an asset.
  • Management experience, particularly in health care administration is an asset.
  • Effective critical thinking and problemsolving skills are required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to make sound independent decisions are required.
  • Ability to effectively take and give feedback on performance is required.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills in workstations, laptops, printers, fax machines and scanners.
  • Excellent communication skills are required to effectively and diplomatically provide guidance and support to others, while maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Excellent teambuilding skills are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and present informational materials is required.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational and prioritization skills are required.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office, Adobe and other relevant software products are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently as well as part of a team is required.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and to support others through change is required.
  • Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.

Pay:
$62,731.50-$86,736.00 per year
