Based in our Vancouver office, and reporting to the VP Operations, the
Human Resources Generalist will support and work with HR team members, and the wider business to support and deliver progressive and inclusive human resources programs and initiatives aligned with the values and needs of the organization.

The position will be hybrid, working from home and the Vancouver office.

Compensation:
$60-65,000 per annum


Major Responsibilities

  • Recruitment:
  • Manage recruitment cycle for interior BC contracts, including prescreens, interviews and onboarding
  • HR duties:
  • First point of contact for employees and leaders within your client groups regarding HR matters
  • Manage disability and leave of absence process including Worksafe BC files
  • Manage and support attendance management processes
  • Support wider HR and Operations team with issuing of letters, notices as needed
  • Support with setting up and updating employee profiles in HRIS
  • Provide employee relations support and solutions using your knowledge of the applicable employment legislation
  • Participate in the development and implementation of HR processes to support the business
  • Participate in change management initiatives to drive a culture of a best in industry employee experience
  • Flex to support other business needs as necessary

Education & Knowledge
-
Education: Post-secondary education in Human Resources or equivalent
-
Experience: Two (2) plus years of HR experience would be an asset


Skills and Requirements

  • Knowledge of HR policies and practices, and related employment legislation
  • Experience in employee relations, health & safety, performance development, employee engagement, attendance, and ability management
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple demands
  • Possess diplomacy and tact required to deal effectively with all levels of employees in the organization, while building lasting relationships
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to maintain and exercise a high degree of discretion and confidentiality

Required Security Clearances

  • Must consent to a Criminal Background Check
  • Public Works Reliability Clearance (for eligibility reasonsmust have resided in Canada for 5 or more years)
