Job Summary
Part-time determinate summer season positions (34 hours/week; May to Sept) - you must be available to work days, evenings, weekends and statutory holidays

Do you have an interest in art and experience in customer service?

The Visitor Experience Associate plays a key role in creating a welcoming and positive experience for all our visitors.

This role contributes to the quality of the public experience by providing a pro-active, friendly and professional welcome to visitors actively offering information regarding programs, activities, facilities and services, as well as providing information on the Gallery's organization, exhibitions, collections, and tourist information.

The Associate contributes to the Gallery's revenue generation effort by promoting and selling the programs and services related to Gallery activities, collecting payments, and conducting surveys and recording public opinion.


Requirements:


EDUCATION:
A relevant combination of education, customer service experience and training;
A post-secondary education, preferably in in art, art history or visual art


WORK EXPERIENCE:


  • 13 years' experience in a field related to customer service for the general public, more specifically in disseminating information and greeting visitors;
  • 13 years' experience in cash handling and end of day closures and deposits;
  • 13 years' experience in the use of office productivity software such as Outlook, Word, and Excel;

ABILITIES/SKILLS:


  • Demonstrates ability deal with the public effectively, politely and professionally;
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, initiative, reliability, judgment, integrity and ability, a team player.
Condition of Employment

  • Must meet the bilingual requirement to be invited to the interview process.
  • Reliability Status this factor is not used at the preselection stage.
Additional Information

  • 6 Temporary assignments (34 hours/ week) with the possibility of an extension or becoming indeterminate.
