We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Controller to support our business located in Lakeshore, Ontario.

Our automotive products fall into four primary groups:
Seating and Lumbar support, Motors and Actuators, and Mechanical Cables.

As a Controller you will lead as well as develop the local Finance Team. Your contributions will directly impact the business, reporting directly to the Director of Finance.


What you'll be doing:


  • Overseeing the costefficient operation, and administration of the finance and accounting department
  • Implementing and administering the policies, procedures, systems and controls required to direct the financial function in accordance with Corporate, Sarbanes-Oxley, local statutory, and US GAAP requirements
- supervising the preparation of all financial statements and reporting, and manages a diverse team of financial professionals to meet and exceed Company objectives
- identifying and supporting staff development goals, and driving continuous improvement efficiency into ongoing financial systems and processes
- serving as a key liaison with Corporate Accounting and various head office functions, addressing requests and requirements in a timely and accurate manner.
- providing ongoing support to the FP&A and Costing sub-functions.

  • Interacting with functional leadership across the organization to provide financial guidance and support to optimize decision making and the overall profitability of the Company.
  • Staying current on market trends and financial best practices
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA designation preferred
  • 10+ years of finance and accounting experience in a manufacturing environment (automotive preferred)
  • 5 years of managerial experience
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting and financial management software
  • Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced, deadlinedriven environment
  • Experience in financial close, internal controls, internal and external audit management, ad hoc analysis, management reporting, accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS), taxation, treasury, working capital, cash flow management, costing and financial planning
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills and leadership abilities, employee development experience
