    What You'll Do

    • Collaborate in the definition of the Specsavers technical products and dispensing strategies and implementing the plan, in conjunction with the Supply Chain, Professional and Global Product teams
    • Responsible for the ongoing development of the ophthalmic lenses retail offering
    • Providing effective support to the store teams on the technical aspect of lenses (ophthalmic and contact lenses) and frames
    • Champion dispensing excellence across the business, identifying and assessing further opportunities for improvement. Brings to life the importance of adequate dispensing in delivering the right patient outcomes, plus the financial benefits for stores. Works with the Head of Opticianry to ensure appropriate training and interventions are in place
    • Responsible for defining lens development requirements for Supply Chain
    • Working with the Product and M&D teams to ensure product quality requirements are met and exceeded
    • Working with other regions to develop and evolve the Group dispensing strategy

    Position Responsibilities

    Technical expert

    • To become the go-to person for the store teams on all technical aspects of the products we sell
    • Build technical knowledge and pride in the products in the portfolio
    • Address and find solutions to any challenges derived from dispensing processes or tools
    • Ensure adequate training and support to stores is provided, engaging with the Head of Opticianry Retail teams to deliver this and providing guidance and input as required
    • Monitoring and analyzing group and market Lens sales activity to identify trends and highlight potential growth opportunities, feeding them back to Global Supply Chain.
    • Provide input and guidance to the digital and marketing teams as they develop online and omnichannel processes and functionality

    Product Launches & Communication

    • Evaluate the market need and provide suitable products from the group portfolio or source local products that are not currently within the group portfolio.
    • Ensure that all products are launched effectively through the store to the customer
    • Provide technical input to the Key stakeholders for the content of POS material, price lists and other communications materials

    Dispensing excellence

    • Help drive the agenda for dispensing excellence across the business, proactively supporting the wider Product, Professional and Retail teams in identifying opportunities
    • Help minimize remakes and non-tolerance instances as measurable outcomes of the function. Through the use of data and benchmarking, work with the Head of Opticianry in identifying training needs and contribute to the development of the dispensing function
    • Work with the Head of Opticianry and the Retail Team to increase efficiency and constantly improve processes and procedures which enhance customer experience
    • Ensure teams understand and use the available tools

    Focus on delivering unbeatable Product Quality

    • Work with Manufacturing labs, Supply Chain and partner suppliers to develop optimised processes to ensure product quality
    • Gather data to identify and address potential issues

    Ability to work cross functionally with the Professional, Marketing and Retail teams

    • Working with the wider teams to create a calendar of OL & dispensing related initiatives for the year
    • Demonstrated ability to build strong professional relationships with partners and colleagues
    • Proactively demonstrate and encourage team collaboration within the Product, Marketing and Retail teams

    What We're Looking For

    Essential

    • Minimum 10 years experience in optics
    • FBDO qualification or equivalent
    • Customer focused and highly organized: genuinely enjoys engaging with different interlocutors at all levels, in an articulated and persuasive manner
    • Demonstrated capacity to determine priorities, meet strict deadlines and effectively balance competing demands and the ability to work under pressure both independently and as a member of a team. Great attention to detail
    • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
    • Demonstrated capacity to influence and coach team members

    Nice to have

    • Previous experience in technical training
    • Commercial experience
    • Able to demonstrate a genuine passion for the Products we sell
    • Highly competent computer skills
