Description

Foremost Industries has an immediate opening for a full-time
Lead Hand
for Small Fab Shop based out of our north facility in Lloydminster, Alberta.

Responsibilities:

Ensure that OH&S regulations and the corporate safety manual are being met
Work with Safety to ensure that safe work practices are followed
Work with Quality Control to ensure quality requirements are being followed
Run weekly safety meetings
Organize & plan daily activities in the shop according to priorities and current shop workload
Identify and report maintenance items to their Supervisor
Look for ways to improve efficiency, heighten quality and improve safety as part of the operation team

- read & interpret blueprints to ensure parts are correctly made to specification

Train, identify and develop employees on all material processing equipment.
Other duties as required

Qualifications:

Proven leadership experience such as supervisor, lead hand, or equivalent
Strong understanding of various metal working equipment with a desire to optimize and improve
Must have goals for continuous improvement
Selfmotivated, fast learner and ability to work independently
Good written and verbal communication skills
Safety Training an asset but will train as required
