About Covenant House Vancouver:

Since 1997, Covenant House Vancouver has provided relentless support for youth experiencing, or at-risk of experiencing, homelessness.

We provide support to young people age 16 to 24 who have experienced a wide range of early life and ongoing, complex trauma; including physical, sexual and emotional abuse and neglect.

Our purpose is to serve all youth, with absolute respect and unconditional love, to help youth experiencing homelessness, and provide a safe and supportive environment for all youth in need.


The Impact a Coordinator, Volunteer Services, Community and Corporate Engagement can make:
The Coordinator, Volunteer Services Community and Corporate Engagement, builds relationships with our community and corporate partners. Developing, engaging, and hosting volunteer groups on or offsite.

Working with Philanthropy officers to help engage their donors in the work of Covenant House Vancouver (CHV), the Volunteer Coordinator, Community and Corporate engagement would solicit for donations of time to support our cause and help tell our story to demonstrate the impact of how volunteers are making a difference in the lives of youth who choose CHV for support.


How You Will Contribute:


  • Solicit for group volunteer support by creating tailored asks to the community.
  • Respond to group volunteer Inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with the Philanthropy Team with matching group community/corporate donor groups with current organizational needs.
  • Coordinate and hosts volunteer engagement with our Annual Thank-AThon Program, reaching a goal of 20k donors each year.
  • Coordinate and hosts volunteer engagement with Annual support for our Hope for the Holidays Campaign.
  • Complete feedback surveys to gain volunteer prospective of agency involvement each opportunity.
  • Prepare and maintain records in Volunteer hub and Raiser Edge records.
  • Prepare and maintain up to date any group volunteer policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate group volunteer information on CHV website and any other recruitment websites.
  • Work closely with programs and fulfill organizations needs with group volunteer support.
  • Assist the Manager, Volunteer Services with the coordination of Volunteer Appreciation Week
  • Participation in the CHV Foundations of Leadership Program (_when available_)
  • Contribute to ongoing growth of the volunteer services program.
  • Maintain knowledge of best practices related to group volunteer services.
  • Consistent performance reviews and demonstrated positive performance, meeting, and surpassing volunteers' goals year after year.
  • Support the Volunteer Services Department with administrative support such as record keeping, volunteer mailings and other administrative duties etc.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:


  • Volunteer Management Experience
  • Member of VMPC (Volunteer Management Professionals of Canada) is a asset
  • Knowledge of Raisers Edge

Skills & Abilities:


  • Excellent organization and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong problemsolving and time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet multiple deadlines
  • Thrives in a team environment
  • Ability to multitask
  • Able to work with autonomy, be selfdirected and show initiative in managing responsibilities.
