    Hybrid Role:
    This is a hybrid position; you will be required to work at the WestJet Campus in Calgary approximately 2-3 days / week.
    Candidates need to be located within Calgary Metropolitan Region.

    Reporting to the Sr Manager – PMO, the Project Lead will act as an expert in executing high complexity and high volume projects, and multi-project programs with significant technology (IT). The successful candidate will also be involved in a cross functional team of experts (SME) and executive leadership stakeholders across WestJet's business units.

    This new role will not only be responsible for the common project metrics scope, schedule and budget, but also for project deliverables driving business success.

    The Project Lead will also foster an environment that promotes accountability, transparency, trust, and demonstrate adaptability. Represent leader when they are absent and display excellent interpersonal skills to build quality relationships with the team and with stakeholders. (PM)

    Responsibilities

    • Lead the project or program team to meet objectives and stakeholder expectations.
      * Balance competing constraints on the project with the resources available. Balance conflicting and competing goals of the project stakeholders in order to achieve consensus.
      * Act as the central point of contact for all communication between the project sponsor, team members, and other stakeholders.

    * Provide direction and present the vision of success for the project. (PM)

    • Align the designed and delivered solutions with the needs of stakeholders.
      * Understand and define enterprise problems and goals, analyze needs and solutions, devise strategies, drive change, and facilitate stakeholder collaboration.
      * Discover, synthesize, and analyze information from a variety of sources within an enterprise, including tools, processes, documentation, and stakeholders. (BA)
    • Gather accurate information from internal and external stakeholders to document requirements. * Bring business and technical requirements together and understand dependencies between projects in WestJet's portfolio.

    * Obtain approvals from stakeholders to turn requirements into deliverables.

    * Ensure that business needs are achieved in project deliverables.

    *Manage changing requirements through documentation, impact assessments, and formulate solutions to ensure deliverables align with enterprise strategy. (BA)

    • Coach and mentor WestJetter's in applying Project Mgmt. and Business Analysis practices in their business unit projects and initiatives and thus increase project success and throughput.
    • Support the PMO Practice Lead to continuously improve standards and expand practice adoption across WestJet.
    • Be an expert in methodology and tools and help to increase maturity levels in project execution at WestJet. (PMO Practice)

    Requirements

    • A University degree, masters or advanced degree in Economics, business, finance, engineering or information technology.
    • years' Project Manager / Lead -PMO experience, or equivalent, in an environment with increasing scope and complexity
    • Leadership experience
    • Experience with building and managing a budget
    • Proficiency in MS Office product suite, and MS Project
