Head Office in Niagara Falls, ON is looking for a detail oriented, analytical and dependable
Intermediate/Lead Quality Control Inspector to join the Quality team.

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE:

Responsible for monitoring and ensuring compliance with the Company Quality policies, programs and practices with respect of to the various required Codes and Standards on multiple projects while working with Project Management for the successful completion of the project(s) in a fabrication shop


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Creating and maintaining spreadsheets/checklists/tracking logs of work inprogress and completed
  • Material receiving inspections including verification of conformance to Standards
  • Tracking, logging and organizing reports
  • Maintains inspection and calibration records
  • Examines work pieces to determine conformance with specifications and welding requirements
  • Interprets specifications, blueprints/drawings and job orders for workers
  • Performs visual, dimensional and weld inspections and keeps associated records
  • Verifies and records dimensions of fabricated parts using various inspection tools
  • Coordinates activities for fabrication to various Codes/Standards for all project QC staff
  • Ensures compliance with procedural requirements (i.e. ASME Section I, II, CWB W59 and W47, CSA Z299/N299, ISO 9001)
  • Compiles, reviews and presents history files (i.e. data packages)
  • Participates in certification audits and various renewals
  • Additional projectspecific responsibilities, as required

KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:


  • Completion of Post-Secondary education in Quality, or, Degree in Engineering ,or, C.E.T is preferred
  • CWB W178certified level 2 (min) inspector (W59 endorsement, preferred)
  • Inspection techniques
  • Sound knowledge of various quality specifications, procedures, Standards and Codes

SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:


  • A minimum of 10 years' experience performing weld inspections within fabrication and/or construction industries
  • Experience working with Inspection and Test Plans ITP is preferable
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings (I.e. Blueprints)
  • Proficiency in the use of computers and software programs including MS Word and Excel for completing forms, generating and maintaining spreadsheets, tracking logs and checklists
  • Knowledge of and experience with CSA Z/N299, ASME Section I, II, V, IX, and/or ISO 9001 is an asset
