Description
JP Towing is looking for an experienced, Fleet Maintenance person. This person must be experienced in Fleet and Vehicle maintenance.

  • Direct and oversee the daytoday operations of our towing vehicle fleet, ensuring optimal performance, regular maintenance, and strict compliance with safety regulations.
  • Lead and mentor our team of drivers, providing them with the necessary guidance, training, and support to uphold our safety standards.
  • In collaboration with the Founder, monitor driver performance for any necessary disciplinary actions based on driving behaviour, productivity, and adherence to company policies.
  • Collaborate closely with the Company's Founder and Health and safety consultant to onboard new drivers, pairing them with seasoned drivers for their training.
  • Coordinate with the Health and Safety consultant to ensure drivers complete assigned courses/certifications within three days from the assignment date.
  • Update our system with relevant course completion information and file the completed certificates in the driver's records.
  • Maintain uptodate records/ files for both trucks and drivers.
  • Assign pickup and dropoff tasks to the Yard Coordinator to facilitate vehicle movements to and from repair shops.
  • Work with the Director of Operations and Health and Safety Consultant to ensure the smooth operation of the Annual & Preventative Maintenance Program.
  • Work in collaboration with the Director of Operations and Health and Safety Consultant to ensure the maintenance is being done and the same is being updated on the maintenance plan schedule on our system.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Operations to ensure all truck permits and licenses are valid and comply with Ontario's legal framework. Verify all driver documentation and licensing requirements are uptodate.
  • Submit a comprehensive report to Management weekly, outlining completed tasks, pending tasks, and updates on equipment servicing and repairs.
  • Analyze fleet data to generate reports on performance, fuel usage, maintenance costs, and other critical metrics to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Monitor all fleet vehicle repairs closely, focusing on adherence to timelines. Update the same information on our system.
  • Obtain management approval for all fleetrelated repair expenses and conduct thorough reviews to ensure expense accuracy.
  • Ensure strict compliance with the CVOR program, emphasizing road safety for the public and aligning operational practices accordingly.
  • Diligently review truck invoices submitted by drivers and update our system to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Oversee our inventory program, ensuring drivers complete the necessary documentation when utilizing parts from company inventory parts.
  • Ensure all required deduction forms and documentation are provided to the Accounts Receivables team for accurate brokerage/driver deductions.
  • Work in collaboration with the Founder to manage & handle and investigate all damage claims thoroughly.
  • In cases where the company is liable, ensure the proper documentation is completed by the driver and submitted to the Accounts Receivables team for accurate driver deductions.
  • Stay informed and ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards pertaining to fleet operations and repair activities. Uphold road safety protocols for all fleet vehicles.
  • Keep the vehicle database current as vehicles are added to or removed from the fleet.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • Minimum 5 years' experience in fleet management with proven leadership abilities.
  • Very wellversed in the realm of Transportation Canada's compliance requirements.
  • Familiar with GPS fleet tracking system.
  • Thorough understanding of transport maintenance and industry in general
  • Demonstrated organizational, administrative and time management background.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Familiar with federal/provincial government regulations, Transport Canada obligations, HOS requirements and safety policies

Salary:
$60,000.00 per year
