    Modern Niagara is actively seeking a Service Technician specialized in industrial Burners and Boilers to join our dynamic Ottawa Service Team. As a Service Technician, you'll conduct maintenance on systems, perform safety checks, inspect and clean burners, set up combustion, and troubleshoot industrial systems for various issues such as ignition failure, water problems, and high CO levels. You will also be involved in conducting teardowns, pulling burners, and inspecting tubes to ensure everything is up to code.     Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Conduct maintenance on industrial heating systems, including cleaning and inspecting burners.
    • Perform safety checks and inspections on controls, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes.
    • Set up combustion processes and troubleshoot issues related to burners and controllers.
    • Conduct teardowns, pull burners, and inspect tubes to maintain optimal system performance.
    • Troubleshoot services for ignition failure, water problems, and high CO levels.
    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain valid safety certificates, including First Aid, WHMIS, TDG, and Fall Protection.
    • Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency services (40-hour week, Monday to Friday, full day). Qualifications and Requirements:
      • 5+ years experience servicing steam and hot water boilers, burners (gas, oil & combination), and associated controls and electrical circuits, combustion, and associated piping systems
      • Experience working with industrial boiler & burner systems, burner controls & instrumentation (IE: flow controls, gas controls, actuators, instrumentation, etc.), preferably with various manufacturer's equipment (Superior, Johnson, Cleaver Brooks, Powerflame, etc.).
      • Experience with linkage-less control systems, including AutoFlame, Honeywell, Allen Bradley, etc.
      • G1 certification is mandatory, OBT-1 is considered a valuable asset.
      • Valid safety certificates including: First Aid, WHMIS, TDG, Fall Protection, Aerial Work Platform considered an asset.
