PURPOSE and SCOPE:


Responsible for needs assessment and designing, developing, implementing, facilitating, and evaluating corporate training and development programs to support the growth of people and programs with a focus on business skills, core competencies and leadership skills.

This includes sourcing and working with other trainers both internally and externally


RESPONSIBILITIES:


The following are the main job responsibilities and priorities for this position:

  • Supports the strategy realization of MacDon with key focus on competency development, business skills and leadership skills training
  • Continuously improves onboarding/orientation process and materials
  • Conducts needs assessment through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and communication with internal customers and external sources
  • Sources trainers/programs to support training requirements providing recommendations for best options
  • Creates, organizes, plans, and presents various forms of onboarding, /orientation, and skills training for new hires
  • Conducts policy training and strategizes policy rollouts utilizing change management principles
  • Writes QMS document drafts
  • Develops elearning programs
  • Develops unique training programs to address specific needs to maintain or improve job skills.
  • Develops rollout strategies for programs, utilizing changes management principles
  • Creates and/or acquires training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials.
  • Presents training and development programs using various forms and formats including group discussion, lecture, simulations, videos in person, recorded and virtually
  • Maintains records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements
  • Assesses training materials prepared by instructors
  • Evaluates program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback
  • Provides coaching
  • Maintains knowledge of the latest trends in training and development
  • Participates in HR initiatives and projects as required
  • Performs other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

  • Postsecondary education in Business, or a related field
  • Certificate in Adult Continuing education is preferred
  • Change Management, Project Management, Coaching, or Emotional Intelligence certification is an asset
  • Proven ability to develop and successfully implement training programs.
  • Experienced in establishing and executing the training strategy within a business.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in the areas of utilizing technology to deliver best in class learning experiences.
  • Human Resources Management Certification (CHRP) considered an asset.
  • Strong influential and building relationship with stakeholder's skills.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills to convey information to others effectively.
  • Facilitation skills to work with cross functional teams
  • Instructional design skills.
  • Ability to use elearning tools (i.e., Articulate) considered an asset
  • Strong timemanagement skills and the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization.
  • Must have intermediate to advanced knowledge with MS Office, Power Point and Excel.
  • Skill with video editing tools and design like Premier Pro, Canva Pro is an asset
  • Confidentiality is essential
