Our team is seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative individual to join us as a Junior Estimator. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start their career in estimating within the landscape construction industry.While prior experience in landscape construction estimating is not required, a strong passion for quality and a willingness to learn are essential.
Reporting to the Lead Estimator, as a Junior Estimator, you will play a vital role in supporting the estimating team.
Responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with quantity takeoffs and computing quantity calculations.
- Learning to price materials and generate labor and equipment costs for projects.
- Communicating any project issues to the project lead for clarification.
- Gaining an understanding of the scope and exclusions related to assigned scope items.
- Reading and reviewing contract documents pertaining to the assigned scope items.
- Reviewing the work of other team members, including their takeoffs, quantity calculations, and costs.
- Assisting with various accounting tasks as required.
In this junior position, you will have the opportunity to develop a strong foundation in landscape estimating while working closely with experienced professionals.
Requirements:
- A strong desire to pursue a career in estimating within the landscape / construction industry.
- Basic knowledge of construction estimation principles and the ability to analyze job costs and material costs.
- Capable of reading and understanding drawings and specifications with guidance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Basic mathematical proficiency.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and a meticulous approach to estimating and takeoffs.
- Selfmotivated and able to work with limited supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Demonstrates an entrepreneurial attitude and a willingness to learn and grow.
- A great team player who is professional and personable.
- Valid driver's license.
