Hotel Overview

An exquisite property with 409 intimate guest rooms and 30,000 square feet of meeting space, two restaurants and a lounge in North Toronto, we are uniquely positioned to host a broad range of corporate, government, and leisure groups.
Daily Tasks
- Welcome guests in a friendly, prompt and professional manner.
- Register guests, issue room keys, provide information on hotel services and room location. Answer phones in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Upsell rooms where possible to maximize hotel revenue.
- Accurately process all cash and credit card transactions in accordance with established procedures including but not limited to posting all charges, completing cashier and other reports, preparing deposit, and counting/securing assigned bank.
- Balancing the revenue and expense transactions, which occurred during the day at the hotel
- Issue, control and release guest safedeposit boxes.
- Communicate any outstanding guest requests or issues to management that may require additional monitoring or followup.
- Respond appropriately to guest complaints. Make appropriate service recovery gestures in order to ensure total guest satisfaction.
- May routinely book guest reservations for individuals and/or groups that are requested either by phone or from within the hotel; process cancellations, revisions, and information updates on changes.
- Promote team work and quality service through daily communications and coordination with other departments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 12 years hotel Guest Service Agent experience Required
- Post-Secondary degree in Tourism/Hospitality
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office are required and knowledge of "Opera" is an asset
- Detail oriented, highly organized, energetic and outgoing, with a positive attitude, driven to provide outstanding guest service
- Must be able to work in night shifts, weekends & Holidays
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Very strong oral and written communication skills required
Job Types:
Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 24-40 per week
Salary:
$17.88-$18.38 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Night shift
- Weekend availability
Experience:
Hotel Guest Services: 1 year (preferred)
