Work setting:

- Meat processing and/or packing plant/establishment
Tasks:
- Train staff/workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies
- Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions
- Prepare production and other reports
- Recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
- Supervise, coordinate and schedule (and possibly review) activities of workers
- Establish methods to meet work schedules and coordinate work activities with other work units
- Identify, evaluate, control and prevent hazards at all stages of the food production process
- Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies
Supervision:
- 510 people
- Staff in various areas of responsibility
- Industrial butchers and meat cutters, poultry preparers and related workers
- Labourers in fish processing
- Labourers in food, beverage and tobacco processing
- Process control and machine operators, food and beverage processing
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses:
- Safe quality foods (SQF) Certificate
- First Aid Certificate
Regulations knowledge:
- Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) regulations
- Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Knowledge of labour relations
