Payroll Specialist
This is a hybrid position for our Winnipeg head office and a remote position for employees outside of Manitoba.


What You Will Do


As the Payroll Specialist reporting to the HR Manager with a dotted line to the Controller, you will be responsible for processing our biweekly payroll (hourly, salary, contract) for both our Canadian and US employees and serving as a point of contact for questions about pay policies and procedures.


What That Actually Involves

  • Process biweekly payrolls using ADP for 200+ employees (US and Canada)
  • Ensure all timesheets have the appropriate approvals and signoffs from team leaders/managers prior to processing payroll
  • Responding to payrollrelated employee training, questions, and inquiries
  • Process ROEs, account reconciliations, and government remittances
  • Process new hires, leaves, terminations, salary adjustments, and bonuses
  • Process benefit reconciliations in payroll
  • Maintaining payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data
  • Working closely with Human Resources and Accounting in the delivery of essential payroll and benefits services
  • Staying informed on changing Canadian and US payroll laws
  • Process and prepare T4's, and W2's.
  • Other administrative duties as required

What You Bring

  • 2+ years of fullcycle payroll experience
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now required
  • Experience processing hourly and salary payroll
  • Experience processing US and Canadian Payroll an asset
  • PCP Certified or enrolled in the Canadian Payroll Association program an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to meet multiple demands in a fastpaced, deadlinedriven environment
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail required
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality to payroll and other sensitive and personal information
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problemsolving skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office products, with an emphasis on Excel
