The primary responsibility of the Lab Technician is to support all different activities in the ADVA-Ottawa laboratory which includes the following:
- Give assistance to test engineers in the lab on their day-to-day activities
- Build and operate testbeds to test ADVA products
- Support certification activities on ADVA products performed by independent testing companies (e.g., UL, TUV/SUD)
- Support customer related activities, such as lab demos and conference / exhibition shows
- Be responsible for the maintenance and calibration of lab equipment
- Drive lab certification activities (e.g., ISO Support logistics activities (i.e., shipping, receiving and ordering)

External- All ADVA customers
Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience- BSc.
in electrical engineering or related field.- Solid background in the optical communications and high-speed electronics.- Experience with optical communication test equipment.
- Capable of performing delicate soldering jobs- Physically capable of carrying loads of up 75-lbs- Experience with SAP is a plusRequirements & Work Environment- Good communication skills. Written and verbal.- Organization skills.- Self-motivated and perform with minimum supervision.

10% Travel- 5% international- 5% domestic

Work schedule- Weekdays- 8am-5pm per day
Compensation scheme- Base salary + other performance related rewards (e.g. Spot Awards)
